Memorandum of Agreement Signing between TESDA RTC-NCR and ASHRAE Philippines Chapter

On April 13, 2026, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Regional Training Center – National Capital Region (TESDA RTC-NCR) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Philippines Chapter formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement held at the TESDA NCR Regional Office. The activity was led by TESDA NCR Regional Director Angelina M. Carreon, CESO III, together with MuntiParLasTaPat District Director Gerardo Mercado; Jerry O. Taroy, Supervising TESD Specialist; and ASHRAE Philippines Chapter representatives Engr. Benedict San Buenaventura, Chapter President; Mildred Tuazon, Government Affairs Officer; and Ma. Mariette P. Jequinto, Government Representative.

The partnership aims to strengthen long-term collaboration in the development and implementation of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) programs that are responsive to current and emerging industry requirements. Under the agreement, TESDA RTC-NCR and ASHRAE Philippines Chapter will work together on skills training, curriculum development under the Area-Based and Demand-Driven TVET framework, and the development of micro-credential programs for emerging and new technologies in the HVAC/R sector.

The collaboration also supports research and development initiatives, technology sharing, and industry consultation to further enhance the quality and relevance of technical-vocational education and training. This initiative reflects TESDA RTC-NCR’s continuing commitment to strengthen industry linkages and promote innovation-driven TVET programs in partnership with professional organizations. The MOA signing marks another significant step toward building a future-ready, industry-responsive, and globally competitive workforce equipped with competencies aligned with the demands of the modern HVAC/R industry.
