In line with its commitment to advancing digital transformation in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) successfully conducted the Huawei ICT Academy Facilitator Training at the RTIC-DBM Computer Laboratory, TESDA Complex, East Service Road, Taguig City.

The activity served as a capability-building workshop for trainers from TESDA NCR Training Institutions (TTIs), namely QCLBSDC, MDTAC, TMTAC, TNTI, and RTC-NCR, who will administer and implement the Huawei ICT Academy in their respective institutions.

The Huawei ICT Academy, an industry-academe partnership program of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., provides globally recognized courses and certifications in key digital fields such as networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The program aims to equip trainers and learners with industry-relevant competencies aligned with the evolving demands of the global workforce.

The training was facilitated by Andrei Manuel, Talent Ecosystem Manager of Huawei, who led discussions on the Academy’s framework, course offerings, and platform navigation. Participants were also oriented on their roles as facilitators and institutional focal persons responsible for managing course delivery, monitoring learner progress, and coordinating program implementation.
Through this initiative, TESDA-NCR reinforces its commitment to strengthening partnerships with industry leaders and integrating internationally benchmarked programs into TVET delivery. The rollout of the Huawei ICT Academy is expected to enhance digital competencies, expand access to certification opportunities, and improve the employability of Filipino learners in the technology-driven economy.
The activity marks a significant step toward positioning TESDA NCR Training Institutions as hubs for innovation and excellence in ICT skills development, aligned with national priorities on digitalization and workforce competitiveness.
