TESDA REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER - NCR

HISTORY

The TESDA Regional Training Center – National Capital Region (RTC-NCR) began its initial preparations for operations on February 03, 2020 based on TESDA Order 089, series of 2020. Under the leadership of Sec. Isidro S. Lapeña, the Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (NMFPI) then formally turned over the Norwegian Training Center (NTC) on June 29, 2020 to TESDA when the contract of lease expired and the building was ordered to be converted into its current building structure which is now the TESDA RTC-NCR.

The former NTC building was designed specifically to cater maritime related studies. However, with the information that NCR for a long time did not have its own Regional Training Center, Secretary Lapeña ordered that an RTC be set up and established in the Region. With the guidance of NCR’s incumbent Regional Director, Florencio Sunico, Jr., the RTC-NCR was envisioned and eventually born. It was formally inaugurated on July 1, 2020.
