Meet James Mendoza Carlos, an OFW Welder now thriving at Technogym in Slovakia. His journey began with a simple Facebook discovery that led him to enroll in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I, II & III, Batch 2023. Recognizing that welding is an in-demand skill, Carlos took the leap—and never looked back.
Through TESDA training, he gained not only technical expertise but also valuable lessons in time management, self-discipline, and teamwork. “Dahil sa suporta ng RTC NCR, napakalaking epekto ito dahil tinulungan ako at napakinabangan ko ang lahat ng pinag-aralan sa TESDA kaya ngayon, hindi ko in-expect na nasa abroad na ako.”
With the strong guidance and support he received, Carlos applied what he learned in ways he never imagined—leading him to work internationally. He also proudly showcased his skills as a competitor in the Philippine National Skills Competition 2024 (Welding Category), a testament to his dedication and growth.
Today, Carlos credits a kind but firm trainer and a transformative training program for shaping both his skills and character.
