RTC-NCR and CompTIA Forge Strategic Alliance for Cybersecurity Excellence

Acceptance, validation, commitment and collaboration characterize successful partnerships. Working together can achieve great things, including increased productivi5ty, quality and growth. These are just a few of the benefits that come with collaboration, and they significantly impact the success of any project or initiative.

On March 16,2023 the Regional Training Center-NCR team met with CompTIA to discuss the proposed “Cyber Security Center of Excellence” training facility strategic tie up made by CompTIA. The RTC- NCR Administrator Mr. Gilbert
Castro, the alternate for the partnership focal of RTC-
NCR Mr. Shamil Kandang and TESDA- NCR Regional partnership focal, Ms. Joann Roussel Goingo, along with CompTIA vice president for the Asia Pacific, Mr. Peter Schalkwkjik, and the Country Manager of CompTIA, Mr. Orlando Seachon, Jr., gathered at the RTC conference room to discuss the collaboration.

During the meeting Mr. Seachon shared relevant information about the “Cybersecurity Center for Excellence” training facility and raised inquiries about the requirement for scholars. Mr. Castro provided shared that there are some changes regarding the partnership and linkages for NCR. He mentioned that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) draft is currently under review for the amendment at the Legal division.

With more than 2 million IT certifications issued worldwide, CompTIA is dedicated to helping IT professionals lead the charge in our digitally connected world, offering a range of certifications and training programs designed to help people stay on top of the latest development in the field.

One of the programs that CompTIA is particularly excited about the “Cybersecurity Center of Excellence” Training facility that will cater to the public once operationalized. This initiative aims to provide scholarships to students interested in pursuing a career in the IT industry but who may need more financial means. The program will offer a range of benefits, including access to state of-the art facilities, training room experienced professionals.

The RTC-NCR Administrator, CompTIA VP, and its Country Manager discussed the strategic tie-up during the meeting. They explored ways to work together to make the project successful. They discussed different requirements for the program, including the need of suitable facilities, funding and staff. They also discussed how they could promote the program and reach out to potential candidates.

Overall the meeting was a great success, and both the parties left feeling excited and motivated about the upcoming program. Through the collaboration and strategic partnerships like this one, it’s possible to achieve great things and to positively impact the world of It and beyond.
