On August 16, 2025, TESDA RTC-NCR, in collaboration with the Department of Education
Division of Taguig and Pateros (DepEd TaPat), conducted an extension program activity at
Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School,
Taguig City. The initiative engaged volunteer students from the Commercial Airconditioning
Installation and Servicing (CAIS) NC III program, supervised by Trainer Enrico V. Relevo
and Senior TESD Specialist Christian Picones, to provide technical assistance to the school
community.
The activity was carried out as part of the ongoing partnership between TESDA RTC-NCR
and DepEd TaPat to extend technical support in schools. Prior to implementation, an ocular
inspection was conducted on August 11, 2025, to assess the scope of work. Volunteer
learners from CAIS NC III performed air-conditioning unit cleaning and minor repairs, while
learners from Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) will work on the fabrication of a vertical
garden, improvements to the faculty and accounting room gates, and minor security repairs.
This collaboration highlighted the role of TESDA programs in enhancing both the skills of
learners and the facilities of partner schools.
Also present were DepEd officials including Assistant Schools Division Superintendent
Arturo A. Tolentino, Officer-In-Charge Principal Rian Loriega, Assistant Principal, and
Property Custodian Ian Gilbert Natividad, who extended their support to the activity. The
partnership reaffirms the shared commitment of TESDA and DepEd to promote community
development through skills training and extension programs. Looking forward, both
institutions aim to sustain and expand these initiatives, fostering stronger collaboration for
the benefit of students and the wider school community.
