18th RTC-NCR Advisory Council Meeting

The 18th RTC-NCR Advisory Council Meeting held at the RTC-NCR Conference Room was a meaningful gathering of leaders from the academe, industry, and TESDA. The event focused on strengthening collaboration, innovation, and future direction for technical education and skills development. One of the main highlights was the oath-taking of Mr. Gamaliel F. Itao as the new member representing the industry sector, marking stronger cooperation between RTC-NCR and private industry partners to keep training programs aligned with workforce needs.

The meeting also recognized RTC-NCR’s outstanding achievements at the WorldSkills ASEAN Manila 2025, where the institution produced a gold medalist and a Best of Nation awardee. This milestone reaffirmed the Center’s dedication to quality training and excellence. Additionally, RTC-NCR received the TESDA STAR Award, solidifying its reputation as a Center of Excellence and a leader in innovation and training advancement.

The meeting was held on September 24, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the RTC-NCR Conference Room. Present during the event were Dr. Danilo V. Ayap, Dr. Eduardo G. Ong, Edicio Dela Torre, Engr. Jimmy Itao, Eugene P. Agcaoili, Jerry O. Taroy, Rita Mae P. Jordan-Gamboa, Aryan B. Beciril, and Melissa Faye Lauron. Topics discussed included updates on the organizational structure, partnerships, research and development, and the advancement of major training programs such as Higher-Level Welding and Film and Video Production in collaboration with CMB Films and LPS.

Moving forward, the Council agreed to strengthen collaboration with industries related to Electric Vehicle Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Hybrid Systems. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to innovation and excellence, ensuring that RTC-NCR continues to lead in providing quality, relevant, and future-ready skills training for the Filipino workforce.
