The TESDA Regional Training Center–NCR (RTC-NCR) held its Trainees Day on July 30, 2025, at the RTC-NCR HVAC Center, TESDA Complex, Taguig City, featuring a health talk on the “Importance of Proper Hydration: A Drive to Better Health, for a Better Life.” The event, conducted in partnership with Otsuka Solar Philippines, Inc., was led by keynote speaker Capt. Erica Tania Davilla MC, President of the Association of Medical Doctors for Asia–Philippines and pioneer Occupational Military Medicine Physician in the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Participants included current RTC-NCR trainees from various programs, including Mechatronics Servicing NC III, Visual Graphic Design NC III, Commercial Air-Conditioning Installation and Servicing NC II, Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing NC II, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and NC II.
Held as part of RTC-NCR’s 5th Year Anniversary celebration themed “Five Years of Transforming the Filipino Workforce through Innovation, Creativity, and Excellence,” the event aimed to promote holistic well-being among trainees through non-curricular enrichment activities. Capt. Davilla discussed the critical role of proper hydration in maintaining physical health, enhancing productivity, and preventing heat-related illnesses—topics particularly relevant to trainees engaged in physically demanding technical training. In collaboration with Pocari Sweat, refreshments were provided to participants to reinforce the session’s message and encourage practical application of the health tips shared during the talk.
The Trainees Day gathered support from both TESDA personnel and partner organizations, further strengthening the RTC-NCR’s commitment to integrating health and wellness in its training programs. Otsuka Solar Philippines, Inc. expressed interest in exploring future collaborations to sustain wellness awareness initiatives for trainees. This event not only celebrated RTC-NCR’s milestone year but also set the stage for continued partnerships that prioritize the holistic development of the Filipino workforce.
