On July 30, 2025, the Regional Training Center – National Capital Region (RTC-NCR) and the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) held a kickoff meeting at RTC-NCR Building 14, TESDA Complex, Taguig City. The meeting was attended by RTC-NCR Center Administrator Eugene P. Agcaoili, Supervising TESD Specialist Jerry O. Taroy, Partnership and Linkages Focal Rita Mae P. Jordan-Gamboa, and representatives from Greenheat Corporation and PNOC, including Project Development Officer Louie Aaron L. Razon. The event marked the initial coordination for the installation of an 80kWp Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System at RTC-NCR.
The meeting served as a significant step in advancing the objectives of the Rooftop Solar PV for Government Buildings (RGB) Project, made official through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on October 7, 2024. The initiative aims to reduce electricity costs and enhance energy efficiency in the government facilities. During the session, key technical aspects, project timelines, and installation requirements were thoroughly discussed. Greenheat Corporation, the approved implementing partner, presented preliminary plans and addressed operational queries. This collaboration underscores the government’s dedication to promoting renewable energy in support of sustainable development goals.
Also present at the meeting were technical staff and support teams from both RTC-NCR and PNOC. Discussions concluded with a shared commitment to conduct further site assessments and finalize preparatory work in the coming weeks. Both organizations expressed optimism for the project’s successful implementation, which is expected to set a precedent for similar initiatives across other TESDA training centers. The installation of the solar PV system is anticipated to contribute significantly to environmental responsibility and cost-effective operations in the long term.
