TESDA RTC-NCR Partners with CMB Films Services, Inc. to Boost SkillsTraining in Film and Video Production

The TESDA Regional Training Center–NCR and CMB Films Services Inc. have officially sealed a partnership to uplift technical education and training in the Creative Sector, with a special focus on film and video production. This milestone initiative highlights the shared vision of both institutions to equip Filipino creatives with world-class skills and real-world experience in the ever-evolving film industry. The Memorandum of Understanding marks a major step in bridging the skills gap through the development of a specialized curriculum, hands-on technical training, and industry immersion. The event celebrated not only the signing of the agreement but also the unity of stakeholders from both education and creative sectors committed to building a stronger, more competitive workforce behind the camera.

Held on May 26, 2025, at the Regional TVET Innovation Center–NCR, TESDA Complex, Taguig City, the event was graced by key figures from the film industry and TESDA leadership. Among the honored guests were Mr. Jaime G. Baltazar, President of CMB Films Services Inc.; Director Larry Manda, Head of the Education Committee; Director Anne Monzon, President of the Lupon ng Pilipinong Sinematograpo; Ms. Jem Baltazar Santos-Quiambao, Head of Operations and Administration of CMB Films Services Inc.; and Mr. Rizal Bautista.

The TESDA Regional Office was represented by Engr. Jovencio M. Ferrer Jr., Regional Director; Director Maria Gracia P. Dela Rama of the Muntiparlastapat District Office; Mr. Mark Angelo Gervacio, Regional Division Chief; and Mr. Eugene P. Agcaoili, RTC–NCR Center Administrator, who opened the program with a warm welcome message. Also in attendance were the dedicated RTC–NCR staff who provided full support in coordinating and facilitating the event, ensuring its success and smooth execution.

With this collaborative effort, TESDA and CMB Films Services Inc. take a bold step in professionalizing critical roles in film production such as lightsman, gaffer, gripper, and cameraman. Guided by the Lupon ng Pilipinong Sinematograpo and industry veteran Director Larry Manda, this partnership reaffirms the growing commitment to empower Filipino talents and shape the future of the Philippine creative economy.

The Memorandum of Understanding between TESDA Regional Training Center–NCR and CMB Films Services, Inc. was held on May 26, 2025, at the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTC–NCR RTIC–DBM).
