Forging Connections: TESDA Officials Showcase Mechatronics and Welding Workshop to German Foreign Minister, Enhancing Collaboration in Vocational Education

The arrival of German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on January 11, 2024, marked a significant juncture in the bilateral relations between Germany and the Philippines, particularly in the domains of economic cooperation and advancements in technology and vocational education. The formalization of several agreements involving prominent entities such as the German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Siemens, and FESTO with TESDA, alongside a Joint Declaration of Intent between DMW and the German Government, underscored the robust collaboration between the two nations.

Preceding the signing ceremony, dignitaries from TESDA, including Director General Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D., accompanied by Deputy Director General for Policies and Planning Rosanna A. Urdaneta, Deputy Director General for TESD Operations Aniceto D. Bertiz Iii, and Deputy Director General for Special Concerns Vidal D. Villanueva III, participated in a guided tour led by RTC-NCR’s Center Administrator, Mr. Gilbert M. Castro, showcasing the facilities of the Mechatronics and Welding Workshop to German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

The highlight of the tour centered on the learning systems employed in the Mechatronics workshop, which were developed by FESTO. Mr. Regie B. Pallasigui, the RTC-NCR Mechatronics trainer, along with his trainees, discussed with the German Foreign Minister how they integrate these Mechatronics learning systems into their training program.

This visit underscored the mutual dedication to excellence in vocational education and technological innovation, further fortifying the bonds between Germany and the Philippines. It stands as a testament to the steadfast commitment towards furnishing world-class training infrastructures and nurturing international collaborations in skill development for the future.
