At least five industries were added to the growing list of partners from the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) who forged partnership with Regional Training Center-National Capital Region (RTC-NCR) to assist in the delivery of the latter’s supervised industry learning (SIL).
SIL is an approach in learning, designed to complement the training gained in the institution with the intention of enhancing the knowledge and skills of a Learner through
actual application of critical competencies in the workplace as identified in the Training Regulations. It is commonly used as synonymous with On-The-Job training (OJT).
They are led by Emilio Gonzalez- Lao of Cold Front Technologies Asia Inc., Richel D. Lukban-Gines of RDLG & Sons Electrical Services, JC Mance of Hope Genesis Enterprises, Kristina Robelo of AKKA Airconditioning and Refrigeration Repair Services, Engr. Noel of Alegre Savers Air Solutions Inc. who signed the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with TESDA-NCR Regional Director Florencio Sunico, Jr. on January 23 at the HVAC facility of RTC-NCR.
The agreement sealed the partnership between RTC-NCR and the companies who agreed to take in learners under Commercial Air Conditioning Installation and Servicing (CAIS) NC III who are mandated to undergo SIL. It also signals the start of a strong linkage between RTC-NCR and the HVAC industries as it endeavors to promote state-of-the-art HVAC technologies and strengthen its position as a reliable and dependable training arm of the sector.
Emilio Gonzalez-Lao of Cold Front shared his gladness to become a partner of TESDA and looks forward in enhancing further the skills and knowledge of the learners thru application on what is really being done in the field. He also stressed that is just the beginning of his company’s strong support to TESDA as they are also one of the biggest contributors in the establishment of the Cold Chain Innovation Hub.
For his part, RD Sunico thanked the industry partners for taking an active part in TESDA’s programs. He emphasized the importance of partnership with the industry in ensuring the highest quality of TVET being delivered to the learners.
